Why do PEOPLE recommend using Download.com to download software....?

i have found that download.com is not safe cause most of the time they cannot verify the digital signature on the downloads..

Is it not better to go to the offical website you want(ie if you want Avast anti virus go to Avast.com)

Also is ZDnet.com safe to download programmes?????

Download.com is the best place if u need any software. It is a software storehouse where there is no trouble finding softwares of our choice. DOWNLOAD.COM is a branch of the well known CNET.COM. If u have any doubts regarding the safety of downloads u can check with the mcafee siteadvisor which shows that it is a safe website without any adware,spyware etc and each download consists of a digital signature.

Regarding ZDNET.com I dont think it offers as many softwares as DOWNLOAD.com

People like download.com because it has tons of downloads all arranged very nicely, i have found it perfectly safe. Although if you are still afraid it will damage your computer you can simply type in a certain type of program your looking for and when you find the result you want go to its website, so basically acting as a download search engine!

Its easy, and the name says it all. I have been dowload software from there for years and have never had a problem.
no downloads.com is better because you can find many of the things that you need and different softwares
Download.com is an excellent and safe site for downloads. I also use Filehippo.com and Snapfiles.com for excellent and safe spyware free downloads.
