What security software do you recommend for browsing the web?computer repair

Norton Symantec

What security software do you recommend for browsing the web?free antivirus

Firefox not Internet explorer as it does not get so much spyware
I refer you to this question I asked a few weeks ago. =)
Point 1. Are you keeping your software up to date?

Point 2. If I were you I would also have Spybot: http://www.spybot.info/
You are fine. seem to have the best. Any more and you might have a major war going on between them.
I have Mechanic 6 professional on main (I lost loads with last crash of my comp with all that you have now on your list). So far it is good. PS One nice girl recommended Mechanic 6 at Answers couple of months ago.
I'd say either Norton Internet security 2007 or MC affee security centre.
spybot and PGP (pretty good protetion)
i'll choose AVG anti virus ... cause it can block spyware ... adware and malware ... personally ... it saved me time and blocked all the weird bots and backdoor viruses
Any type of adware available, works wonders!
I have Norton anti virus and webroot spy cleaner. Some of the programs that you have are free versions and don't totally protect your computer. They don't update daily to protect against new virus', when that happens the virus can infect your computer and the program will never pick up on it. Norton and Webroot constantly run and update so there is a next to never chance that you can get somthing with these programs. They also run periodic scans to make sure nothing got through.

A good piece of software that protects you while browsing the web is avast it is updated at least once a day. It also monitors IE ,MESSENGER etc. It`s really good if your on a broadband connection were your computer is connected 24/7.It runs in the background and is unnoticable and doesn`t affect what you doing, you don`t like with a lot programs have to activate a scan etc.

the website is:

www.avast.com

The best thing about it its FREE

Hope this helps
I recommend the Latest NIS that is the 2007 version. Easy to use, and has some superb safety features; I know most people will not believe me because of the last two versions of NIS being so allegedly "problematic", but it has a great Interface, and catches lots of problems
avg is exec lent also Windows security centre
