HTTP Malware Alarm Install?

OK, a couple of weeks ago I did a complete system restore to its normal state. I did this becuase I had a virus of some sort and my Anti-virus/spyware software found it but coudnt remove it (Windows Defender and Norton Internet Security 2007)

So I did the restore, but what I have noticed recently I have been getting dodgy/misleading advertisments of very legitimate websites (such as Microsoft.com). This is surly must be incorrent, right?

And a few minuites ago I just got this message from Norton "HTTP Malware Alarm Install" And it said this was blocked form my computer. But just now I went to browse the internet with Firefox, and at first it didn't even load, then it did and it started to crash, then the pc started to run REALLY slow, I got a a lot of not responding.

So does anyone know whats up here?

Thanks...

Possibly the virus recopied itself during the system restore. On another computer try and download Avira Antivirus or AVG Antivirus and install via CD and see if anythings up. Possibly it's Malware Alarm ( a rogue spyware app that pretends to be one).

Try and look for a SmitFraud infection ( detailed removal help (also it has a Smitfraud tool to remove it) http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t... ).

Scan with Norton and Windows Defender and see if there are anything
