What is going on when I click on start then right click on my computer it won't open up it used to. it seems like it is locking up for some reason I ran my anti spyware software virus software and rootkit software on my computer it is clean. what is the deal.

Use System Restore to go back to a date when your computer was working right.

Start %26gt; Programs %26gt; Accessories %26gt; System Tools %26gt; System Restore, click Restore My Computer to an Earlier Date

a friend of mine had this problem when he went into start my comp it would load jus a blank screen with the torch over the folder looking but not do anything after a week it sorted itself out hope it does 4 u too
1st left click then right click
Click Start, choose run, type sfc/ scannow, hit enter. You will need your XP CD-ROM in the drive. Follow the on screen process and once it completes, be sure to re-update your PC at the Windows Update site.

In response to your comment, my advice is good. The recovery CD-ROM should allow for this. If it doesn't, you can borrow a Windows XP CD-ROM. Just because you can't complete the task doesn't mean the guidance is inaccurate.
