For the past 3 reformats I've had to do, all 3 have been due to a specific problem, at some point, my video files become currptoed, they will open and play in a media player, but for SOME reason they will be cut horribly short, from about 15 minutes down to 30-40 seconds, this seems to happen after a period of time, anti-viral software as well as anti-spyware software cant seem to pick up whatever this is. Does anyone have any information on a type of virus, spyware, malware program that would do this?
It seemed just to happen today, although I haven't installed anything at all on my computer. The Operating System is windows XP, and it happens with ALL media players.
Virus information?adware remover
Formatting does not destroy the malware. It just restructures the file system. A Wipe will destroy all data on a drive. A "Quick Wipe" will be effective, then partition and format your drive. KillDisk will do what you need done and is freeware. http://www.killdisk.com
If you would like to know what the problem is follow the instructions in the following link.. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t...
