Can u tell me what is difference between these software.?antivirus software



Malware is stuff that doesn't really come under the heading of virus or spyware - but something you wouldn't want on your computer.



Rootkits are a fairly new threat. Take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rootkit - it's a kind of smart virus - difficult to detect.



Spyware - is nasty little progs that spy on what you're browsing on the Internet and send information back to a "mothership" so they can bombard you with pop-ups etc.



Spyware Signature Database just means it's the latest update for spywate detection including any newly identified threats.



A firewall monitors and potentially blocks incoming and outgoing connections from your Internet that might be a threat or compromise your security in some way. The best firewalls monitor both incoming and outgoing connections.

malware /spyware / greyware are rogue programs that slide in to give you ads ( and slow you down on the net)
