How do I get rid of the taskbar message that keeps popping up caused by the Spyfalcon virus?

I got this virus through a fake windows media codec and removed most of it by using Webroot Spysweeper. I tried all the fixes posted online like SmitRem but was unable to get rid of the taskbar message. I have tried going in safe mode as well. It seems that this a new breed of the virus that people haven't figured out yet. The message popps up every five minuted on my desktop and says "Critical System Error!" etc...it then provides a link to buy Spyfalcon anti-adware software. It's a big scam. Any help would be much appreciated.
