One day. i downloaded some kind of pluggin i though that i would need to view a video.. and out of nowhere.. my computer suddenly said i had a virus and pop ups where everywhere telling me to install anti-virus. I was smart enough to not download it. And i realized that my memory(hard disk) was going down a couple gigs once or twice week. So i turned to reformatting my hard disk and re-installing vista. Yet again the same problem is occurring. it managed to eat up 15 gigs every since i reformatted but in a slower pace.
WILL ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME. I'm cheap so don't suggest me buying expensive software or buying a new hard disk unless it is my ONLY option.
Somethin is eating memory!?hijack this
if you have tried scaning your computer and you found no virus of spyware then the only problem might be that your windows vista system restore. windows system restore keeps on making copies of your computer so if you install a program and it was giving you trouble then you can use system restore to restore your computer back to the time you want it to be. if this is the problem you dont have to worry about, it will automaticaly start deleting itself when your hard drive is full but if you reall need the extra space, click start and search for disk cleanup, and click my files and other users files, then click more options and go to system restore and shadow copies and press clean up. This will clean up your old copies of your computer
