How to spped up the computer?

in order to speed up my computer, i am doing these.



(remember i am doing this process for every 1 week )



step by step method:



a) firstly i have downloaded CCLEANER software and i am running ccleaner every one week and also im using Eusing Free Registry Cleaner.



b) i am cleaning every drive by diskcheck (right click my computer, right click the hard drive and click disk cleanup)



c) third, i am checking the hard drive (right click my computer, right click the hard drive, under tools "check now")



d) fourth, i am running anti virus and also spyware software



: AVG, Spyware doctor, AD aware



e) fifth, im deleting temp files and prefetch files



f) lastly i m using disk defragmentar



pls give me some suggestions that i have to do any extra work or any wrong that im doing so...

It sounds like you're being very thorough.



I would also suggest you check how much RAM your pc has. You can do this by Right-clicking My Computer, choose Properties and look at the bottom of the window that appears. If you're running XP, bear in mind it needs at least 128Mb of RAM to run properly, but I'd say you want at least 512Mb or even 1Gb to get the optimum performance from it. If you're running Vista, you need 1Gb RAM ABSOLUTE minimum!! But you need 2Gb to run efficiently.



Try clearing your internet history thoroughly also - I can't remember if CCleaner does that for you, obviously delete all cookies and temporary files as well.



If your pc is very old it might be worth just getting a replacement - they're very cheap at the minute.
Buy a Mac and forget all your woes.
