My Norton Antivirus has discovered a trojan (called "backdoor.trojan") hidden under the name of "Secure.exe", but the anti-virus fails to delete it or place it in quarantine.
My anti-spyware software (I use both Spybot S%26D and Lavasoft Adaware) could not detect it, and I couldn't delete "secure.exe" manually either.
After reading Symantec's help site, I tried to do as they say and disabled windows XP auto-restore function and deleted "secure.exe" from the windows registry, but the program appears again in the registry after I reboot my computer.
I cannot delete the file manually neither through windows, nor through MS-DOS (it says "access denied"), and I cannot close the process or delete it from the registry either.
Is there a way to delete this sneaky bastard? It's driving me insane!
How to remove a really sneaky trojan?downloads
from my knowledge, backdoor trojans can allow unauthorized access to your computer. they're all, sneaky.
first off, you can google it up. at least thats what i always do and it usually helps. certain sites give you the entire information about the specific trojan you have and the method to remove it, sometimes, the exact software you need too. most often it involves, deleting all the required stuff from registry and rebooting in safe mode. these are all methods recommended by Symantec like you said.
