Is there freeware for wordprocessing/spreadsheet, etc for new Macbooks?

I have been a PC user my whole life and I am researching into buying a Macbook for the main reason of the added security...my PC is only three years old and has been crippled by viruses (and I have run the best anti-virus stuff out there!) Anywho, the new macs only come with "teaserware" trial versions of any kind of word processing software...is there freeware that I can download that will keep some kind of program such as Office on my new Macbook?

Adding Zoho:

Got tons more offerings than the others listed previously.
Macs come with Text edit or you can use OpenOffice or get iWork08 for only $79 which is excellent compared to MS Office for Mac.

also you can check out www.versiontracker.com or http://mac.softpedia.com/

Also here are some FAQs to help you

The three I recommend are:

Abiword

OpenOffice

http://openoffice.org

Google Docs

http://docs.google.com

All three are free. Google Docs requires a free Google account, but is worth having even just as a place to backup all of your documents to.
