A .dll file on my home computer showed up as a virus on my pc. I have just uninstalled norton anti-virus and added panda software which seems to have found some things and "disinfected" them but the .dll file is still there. Its modified date is 6/3/06 and it didn't come up as a virus until yesterday.
How do I know if this is a real file that I need? How can I tell what program(s) is using it?
Thanks!

Right click on the DDL %26 open it with Notbad ..there should be a copy right in this DLL if it's Trusted one Or a Famouse programs using it ... U'll c that the Program can't be run in Dos mode But in the End of Text U'll c the Copy Right Stuff ... This kind of DDL can't be Encrypt but the Rest DLL can be Encrypt So u'll know the Diffrent that way Only ... about how tell the Windows about the DLL go to Run %26 write regsvr32 then the location of the file ;)
How do I tell what program or user has access to a .dll file?norton internet security 2008
You would have to go into each program and see if it is included at the header of the file. This is basically an impossible task. Why don't you tell us what the name of the .dll is (which stands for dynamic linking library) and maybe we can help you.
