I've been having a software counterfeitin' on my menu bar and it's hard to find a way to remove this because the genuine microsoft windows says that I got a software counterfeitin', because of the volume key license. But it was not in my pc since I received this new pc from my mom and my uncle. I tried the other way of removin' this but there isn't others yet. When I have this new pc, an anti-virus was installed called the Norton. And I think I got something wrong in my hands since this genuine is trying to go on that contact when I did my yahoo prevent password theft. But, I'm only 13 and I wonder if there needs to be a way to solve this better than doin' this bad stuff of software counterfeitin'. Anyway, I actually don't wanna be scared of that because my mom is working hard, but this thing keeps on staying there. Help...

Okay, that's the grey-area version of how to get around the issue, but it's not a fix. It's still not a legal resolution. Eventually, when the asker tries to install another update/service pack/etc..., the same issue will occur. Report It
Just run this program and you can get rid of that nasty little thing as Microsoft even pics up real version as being fake ones. Go through the list until you find disable WGA this will fix it.

Unfortunately, once Windows Genuine Advantage tags your system as having a "counterfeit" version of the operating system, the only choice you have is to purchase a license from Microsoft. There's plenty of information in the following FAQs about how to go about it. From the sounds of it, they even offer some sort of discount:

Your only other option would be to do a clean reinstall with a legit version of Windows.
