It seems to give the cursor a mind of its own, and Norton anti-virus, Windows defender and the windows Firewall did not catch it!! It also seems to disable any protection software you have or try to download. Is there a "cleaner" type program that I can use to kill it??
Anyone have experience with a virus that hijacks the mouse cursor? It's name? How to get it off my 'puter?computer

Try Avg from grisoft and it is free
my only advice is system restore. it may be too late. go to start, run, type in "msconfig" then choose the system restore button, and follow the directions. there is also a way to get to system restore through the control panel. the system restore restores your computer to an earlier time. try to restore it to the time before the firus
Have you tried another mouse. They go out sometimes. I use a USB optical and it works well
are you sure it's a virus/hacker maybe it's just a dirty mouse, try cleaning your mouse ball or get a new one
Your firewall and virus catcher doesn't seem very reliable. If I were you I'd can Norton and get McAfee. Norton got caught creating viruses and spreading them. This is what I heard. Get and down load at least their virus program. My mouse did that before and I found out it was dirty and had lint , a lot in where the ball turns. Check that out first, because I've never heard of a virus attacking a plug and play mouse. Try a different mouse, too. Maybe that'll help. Clean all your cookies out, Get rid of all your temporary internet files. Use the disk clean up. Clean your history file, too. If you don't know how to do this then get someone who can.
